Amongst Kashif’s many projects, The Manhattanville Campus at Columbia University is one of which he is most proud. Comprised of 17 academic buildings on a 10-acre brownfield redevelopment site. With ambitious sustainability goals, it became the first LEED-ND Gold certified project in New York City. The completed first phase includes the Science Center, Central Utility Plant, and Lenfest Center for the Arts. From a BIM perspective, the project was exemplary, featuring detailed modeling of all building systems to LOD 300+.
The Luxury Resort located in Waseel / Direya, close to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presented a completely different, though equally complex set of challenges. The essence of resort is planned to be between classic and modern/contemporary on a total plot size of 210,600m2. The project components consists of two main entrances, unified reception area, ladies area, men area, service area includes swimming pool, health club.
A project which required perhaps the most sensitive of engineering responses, the Al Ain Palace Museum in Abu Dhabi, for the UAE Department of Culture & Tourism, is another exemplar within his portfolio. On this project the appointment was as the Lead Design Consultant for the rehabilitation of the Al Ain Palace Museum. The project aims to preserve and restore the Palace’s rich heritage while addressing the site’s physical deterioration in alignment with the Conservation Management Plan (CMP).
