Forged in experience

Together, we have more than 100 years of professional experience in the leadership of AKT II and KPM Engineering, where our co-founders shaped engineering practice, expanded interdisciplinary specialisms and geographical reach. We designed and delivered a wide range of award-winning buildings, bridges, and artwork.

The depth of our experience has given us a clear vision for an integrated practice; one that addresses the limitations of the conventional approach to design engineering.

Addressing the industry disconnect

A fragmented technical process often means core elements like the structure, foundations, and façade are designed in isolation, which compromises the original intent. Alongside this, the demands of the climate emergency, of resource depletion, and social equity are treated as separate add-ons rather than pervasively infused in the design.

As a result, the true potential of a structure, to respond to both human society and the natural world, is lost.

With a focused response

We created Agentia to solve this. We believe an integrated approach is essential to realise a structure's true potential. This belief is driven by our core ethos, which rests on two clear principles:

To care for our planet

We acknowledge that we have only one Earth. Her resources remain finite - and so we must use them well. The fundamental purpose of design and engineering is to create a world that is better, both now and in the future. Our professional history shows a commitment to tackling increasing complexity, scale, and precision. We are now applying that same motivation to an urgent response to the climate emergency and biodiversity loss.

To care for our communities and society

We believe our work is a vehicle for achieving social equity. Our goal is to empower individuals, society as a whole, and marginalised groups to have a voice in shaping their built environment. This approach is fundamental to creating inclusive and culturally relevant outcomes. We foster a process that enables people to help shape their own environments. This is how we challenge systemic barriers and achieve transformative social change.
